Blues File: Finis Tasby

Born: 1940 in Dallas, Texas

First Bands: The Blues Busters in the late 50's on drums. Switching to bass, Finis formed the Thunderbirds in 1962 who backed up Freddie King, Lowell Fulson, Clarence Carter and Z.Z. Hill while touring in Texas and Oklahoma.

Early Recordings: In 1973 Finis moved to California, where he recorded several 45's including 1978's classic "Get Drunk and be Somebody". His first LP was 1985's "Blues Mechanic".

Movies: Finis landed an acting role in the film "Sharkey's Machine" with Burt Reynolds. Three of his songs appear in the film "The Babysitter".

Influences: Finis developed a deep friendship with John Lee Hooker and recorded a tribute CD to honor John Lee in 2002.

Current Projects: A dynamic live performer Finis is touring with guitarist Enrico Crivellaro as well as with the Mannish Boys.

Philosophy: "Please keep loving the Blues and I hope I can be there to sing them for you".
